Who we are

GC II is a small family established charitable foundation. We work with professionals and experts to deliver targeted and systemic improvements in healthcare.

We are committed to helping others by offering funding, our experience and our time to our partners.

Our parents taught us the importance of helping others and sharing freely what little they had with those in need. We too have benefited from the generosity of our family, friends, and neighbours. For this reason we set up GCII in tribute to our parents and everyone who has helped us to thrive.

What we do

As an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) foundation, our aim is to build strong relationships, through providing funding and working closely with carefully selected partners.

We hope with our targeted support we will help them deliver positive outcomes and amplify their impact.

By working collaboratively with our partners, we aim to develop scalable ways of working that reduce costs and increase impact.

We identify and select our partners through our independent research. We do not respond to unsolicited requests for funding.

We look for creative leaders and innovative projects that challenge conventional approaches to deliver positive and lasting change. Once identified, we assess their suitability to receive funding from GCII.  If we agree that the project is one we wish to fund, we will offer targeted support, which we hope will help secure  any further funding necessary to deliver the project’s  long term and scalable goals.

Our careful choice of who we work with means that we can allow those we choose to fund the discretion to use our funding in the best way to achieve the outcome we all agree is desirable.

We aim to be flexible and pragmatic, recognising that projects that are new and untested can be unpredictable and plans may need to be changed.

We also understand that the work we are supporting is often demanding and at times overwhelming. For this reason, we aim to stand alongside those we fund as we work together to deliver our shared goals.

What we don't do

We do not engage directly with the public whose outcomes we wish to benefit. It is for this reason we have taken the decision to only work directly with and through carefully selected partners. As a result, we do not accept unsolicited approaches for funding. Please do not contact us with funding requests.

Our Objects

The advancement of health for the public benefit by preserving and protecting the health of those in need of treatment and care.

We do this by means of making grants to support specific projects and disseminating the findings and results of such research; and raising awareness and providing information and advice.

Our Values

Compassion

Listening, standing in the shoes of others and serving selflessly

Integrity

Collaborating with partners transparently and in good faith

Courage

Taking a bold approach in our vision

Excellence

Exercising curiosity and driving innovation

Our Approach

We won’t sign up if we are not fully committed in both time and funding.

In order to stay nimble and because we are a small CIO, we will focus on providing seed funding for innovative projects to assess their potential effectiveness and value.

If after critical evaluation of the project outcomes or pilots we may consider further funding to deliver the long-term objectives of the projects.

We will always be transparent about our actions because we want to build lasting relationships. This will happen by working collaboratively and honestly in an evolving process.

Our ambition is to develop operational models that can be leveraged by many: low cost projects that provide high levels of benefit for the public.
